FLORA REFRAMED

Flora Reframed is a love letter to contrast and contradiction. This body of work explores the tension between old and new, the ornate and the wild, by placing bright, expressive floral paintings within vintage, gilded frames. Each piece is intentionally layered—honouring the past while celebrating the present.

The frames, sourced secondhand and often worn with time, are lovingly restored or left imperfect to tell their own stories. Within them, vibrant florals bloom in a riot of colour and emotion, painted in POTTY MOUTH’s signature style: loose, layered, and loud. The work challenges the traditional notions of “refined” art by mixing maximalism with history, and fine art with fun. It’s about embracing the beauty of things that don’t match, the joy of clashing eras, and the power of florals as symbols of resilience, growth, and unapologetic self-expression.

Flora Reframed invites the viewer to reimagine the spaces we inhabit, and to find colour and delight in unexpected combinations.

BIO
POTTY MOUTH is the vibrant alter ego of Adelaide-based artist Cassie Hutchinson. A self-taught painter with a background in fashion, costume design, and events, her work is bold, unapologetic, and bursting with colour.

Known for transforming everyday objects into joyful, hand-painted treasures, Cassie creates art that doesn’t whisper—it shouts. Through POTTY MOUTH, she blends maximalist aesthetics with playful irreverence, aiming to bring beauty, humour, and heart into everyday life.
