Gallery Opening & Closing Procedure

Opening Procedure

Please complete the following steps when opening the gallery:

1. Turn on the Gallery Lights

  • Turn on all gallery lighting.

  • Check that all exhibition areas are well lit.

2. Set Up the Spotlights

  • Remove spotlights from the charging station.

  • Position and hang spotlights as required.

  • Turn on all spotlights and check they are working correctly.

3. Open the Gallery

  • Unlock and open the front door.

  • Place the gallery signs outside.

  • Turn on the music.

4. Update the Signage

  • Change the "Closed" sign to "Open".

5. Final Check

  • Walk through the gallery to ensure:

    • Lights and spotlights are on.

    • Music is playing.

    • Signs are visible.

    • The gallery is welcoming and ready for visitors.

Closing Procedure

Please complete the following steps when closing the gallery:

1. Pack Away the Spotlights

  • Turn off the spotlights.

  • Remove them from display positions.

  • Place them on charge.

2. Charge the Speaker

  • Turn off the speaker.

  • Place it on charge.

3. Bring in External Signage

  • Bring all gallery signs back inside.

4. Update the Signage

  • Change the "Open" sign to "Closed".

5. Secure the Gallery

  • Lock the front door before leaving.

Important

  • Do not turn off the gallery lights.

  • Leave all main gallery lighting on.

Basement Door

The basement door must remain closed at all times.

This is a fire door and does not have an automatic closing mechanism. Keeping it closed helps maintain building safety and prevents noise from the gaming venue downstairs carrying into the gallery.
